The Walking Dead Comic Trading Cards Set 2 - Sketch Cards and a Release Date

By Miranda Charsky

We were so excited to see trading card enthusiasts and comic fans react so positively to the first set of trading cards for The Walking Dead comics. It was extremely obvious that fans wanted to see a second set, and we started working on it almost immediately. Now, it's almost ready. The release date for The Walking Dead Comic Trading Cards Set 2 is June 5th!

In the first set, we focused very heavily on the characters of the story – each character selected had nine cards featuring interior black and white art, highlighting some of his or her most dramatic moments. For the second set, we really wanted to focus on the awesome full-color cover art, for which I just finalized the opaque whites for the foil parallel base set, and they look fantastic!

In addition to the base and parallel set, fans can look forward to chase sets, autograph cards, and sketch cards. The chase sets include a red foil quotable set, featuring some of the best lines from over 100 issues, and the Something to Fear chase set, featuring covers from the 100th issue story arc and soft touch technology.

Fans can also look forward to randomly inserted autograph cards from the creators – just in case you didn’t get one the first time, you’ll now have a second chance!

And of course, as they're always our favorite part, the sketch cards in each box are looking great. We have the fortune to work with some very talented artists, including some brand new to the hobby, and some seasoned veterans, but each brings a great style and ability to the craft. There are new preview cards below. Be sure to check out the product page for a comprehensive list of artists and Facebook for even more sketch card previews before the product launches.
