Cryptozoic Will Showcase Games at Alliance Open House 2018

Latest Rick and Morty Games, Pantone™: The Game, New Entries in DC Deck-Building Game Series, and Fourth Epic Spell Wars Are Among 2018 Releases to Be Featured at Booth #509

Lake Forest, CA – August 29, 2018 – Cryptozoic Entertainment, leading creator of board games, trading cards, and physical and digital collectibles, today announced that it will showcase recently released and upcoming games at Alliance Open House 2018, September 7-9 at the Grand Wayne Convention Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Alliance Game Distributors’ annual trade show provides a chance for retail store owners, manufacturers, and vendor partners to network, attend workshops, and test out the latest games.

Cryptozoic will be at PSI’s Booth #509 displaying and demoing several tabletop games, including two Rick and Morty games, Pantone™: The Game, DC Spyfall, the newest entries in the DC Deck-Building Game series, the fourth Epic Spell Wars game, and Million Dollars, But… The Game, which is being given a wide release in partnership with Rooster Teeth.

“Alliance Open House gives us an invaluable opportunity to hear directly from store owners about our products,” said Colin Robinson, National Sales Coordinator at Cryptozoic. “We think they’ll really enjoy checking out our recent releases like Rick and Morty: The Pickle Rick Game, Pantone™: The Game, and DC Spyfall, as well as upcoming games like DC Deck-Building Game: Rivals — Green Lantern vs. Sinestro. We’re confident these games will be well-received by fans and do really well for stores.”

Cryptozoic will show several 2018 games at the event, including:

Rick and Morty: The Pickle Rick Game: This intense 1-2 player game is based on the hugely popular “Pickle Rick” episode of Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty. One player becomes Pickle Rick as he tries to escape a heavily armed compound, while the other player takes on the roles of both the Russians and Jaguar as they try to stop him. Adding to the off-the-wall fun is the collectible Pickle Rick game case that measures approximately 12.75 inches tall and holds all of the game’s components, including custom Pickle Rick and Jaguar playing pieces!

PantoneTM: The Game: In this easy-to-learn competitive party game, 2-20 players try to recognize characters from pop culture who are represented only by abstract arrangements of colors, inspired by Pantone™, the world’s leading color expert. Designed by Scott Rogers (Rayguns and Rocketships, the God of War video game series), the game has garnered glowing reviews from many outlets, including highly regarded podcast and YouTube channel The Dice Tower.

DC Deck-Building Game: Crisis Expansion Pack 4: This expansion can be added to any game in the popular DC Deck-Building Game series to introduce cooperative play, Personal Crises, and Unity cards that can combine for powerful effects. Optimized to work with DC Deck-Building Game: Teen Titans, the pack features Crisis versions of eight Teen Titans Super Heroes and comes with six Super Hero cards based on the Titans, original members of the team who are all grown up. To coincide with the game’s recent release, Cryptozoic has made available DC Deck-Building Game: 2018 Organized Play Kit 1, which includes instructions for stores to run tournaments for the DC Deck-Building Game, as well as a limited-edition Playmat, 12 Black Lightning Super Hero Promo Cards, and a Black Lightning poster. As the game progresses, players buy more powerful cards and attack and defend until their opponent’s three oversized Character cards are defeated. When the game is released later this year, Cryptozoic will also make available DC Deck-Building Game: 2018 Organized Play Kit 2, which includes instructions for stores to run tournaments for the DC Deck-Building Game, as well as a limited-edition Playmat, 12 Gypsy Hero Promo Cards, and a Gypsy poster. It was named as one of the “Top Anticipated Games - Gen Con 2018” by The Dice Tower, the highly regarded YouTube channel and audio podcast about board games.

Epic Spell WarsTM of the Battle Wizards: Panic at the Pleasure Palace: The fourth game in the Epic Spell WarsTM series takes the trademark humor-filled, mature gameplay and artwork to a new level for 2-6 players. Magically Transmitted Diseases (MTDs) are a powerful addition to the proceedings, leading Wizards to suffer Crotch Krakens, Genital Harpies, and Gorgonorrhea, among other enchanted afflictions. The game looks to continue the growth of the series, which has gained a legion of fans since the first game was featured on the hit web series TableTop.

Million Dollars, But... The Game: Based on Rooster Teeth’s wildly popular web series Million Dollars But…, this addictive, easy-to-learn party game has players put their morals and imagination to the test, posing the question, “What would you do for a million dollars?” The 2-6 players take turns proposing scenarios in which someone gets a million dollars, but must do something distasteful in exchange. The partnership between Cryptozoic and Rooster Teeth has made the game available at hobby stores and other retailers nationwide.

Wallet: In this exciting party game, 2-7 players become colorful characters and compete to find money and an ID that will convince the cops of their innocence. Holding multiple IDs and several types of currency will result in a player getting locked up for sure. Each fast-paced game last only 10 minutes, and an entire match is over in just 30 minutes.
