Origins Game Fair: Day 1

By Sara Miguel

It's the first day of Origins, and it's already been really exciting for us at the Cryptozoic Booth. If you didn't read about our presence yet, check out this press release. We're at booth D201 in the main gaming hall.

As quite a few of you know, SPYFALL is set to release on June 10th, but we were able to get 120 copies of the game shipped to Origins for an exclusive pre-release. We've already sold out! But don't fret if you didn't get a copy as it will be out next week. We want to make sure we support FLGS by only selling a small quantity of the game at Origins. Find your local game store here.

This was obviously taken before we were overrun with attendees looking for SPYFALL.

And while we're at it, here are a few more shots of the booth. We've got a lot of goodies for the attendees to pick up.

Aren't those playmats gorgeous?

In addition to SPYFALL, we are also selling pre-release copies of Adventure Time Card Wars Collector Pack: Ice King vs. Marceline. This game is wicked fun, and introduces the new Icy Lands landscapes along with Frozen tokens. This changes the game play quite a bit, while still maintaining everything that we know and love about Card Wars. Ice King vs. Marceline will release June 10th if you can't get to Origins.

If you plan on getting involved in the tournaments at Origins, there are some prizes/promos associated with them. For our DC Comics Deck-building Game Tournaments, we are giving away an Oversized Super-Villain Character Card featuring the Joker (you can also get the Joker if you purchase a copy of DC Comics Deck-building Game: Forever Evil at the convention). If you plan on participating in our Adventure Time Card Wars Tournaments, the "Cool Guy" and "Dweeb" (for first and second place, respectively) will receive OP Mugs. Both of these amazing items will be offered at Origins, at GenCon, and we are looking to get them into hobby stores soon. So don't fret if you can't get to one of these conventions, we're working on getting them out to you, our fans!

Now, these amazing events wouldn't be possible without our amazing volunteers. We need fans like you to come out and help us put on conventions so they run without a hitch. Who better to help us than our fans?! As a huge thank you to our volunteers, they get quite a few perks. Here is a picture of our Origins volunteers getting a first look at the new DC Comics Deck-building Game: Teen Titans, which is set to release this summer. If you check out our forums, you can see a list of the goodies our volunteers get, including a few items that we're keeping secret...for now.

That's all for today folks! If you were on the fence about heading to Origins, you should definitely come and see us. We'll keep you updated throughout the rest of the weekend.
