Origins Game Fair Wrap-Up

By Mike Rosenberg

Last weekend, the Origins Games Fair took place in Columbus. Cryptozoic Entertainment had a booth for the convention, where we ran demos for all of our games and also sold our latest products.

Cryptozoic's latest board game, The Big Bang Theory Party Game, was our newest and one of our most popular products, along with Epic Spell Wars of the Battle Wizards: Duel at Mr. Skullzfyre, with Epic Spell Wars was one of our most well received games.
Some unexpected surprises also took place during the weekend, such as the surprise event for certain volunteers. This was put on by the convention staff, where volunteers for the event got a chance to play board games with big names in the pop-culture industry. A few lucky volunteers enjoyed a game of The Big Bang Theory Party game with Wil Wheaton!
Check out some of the photos we took of the event below. If you missed Origins Game Fair, don't worry! The next convention where you'll find us in the exhibit hall at is Gen Con in Indy, and as always, you can expect that show to be huge!
Sara Erickson was our gamemaster for the weekend. She not only managed our tournaments, but was also responsible for handing out some of the awesome prizes people could win simply be playing!
One of the prizes we handed out was a Fruit F*cker statue, in all of its fruit-terroizing (and tenderizing) goodness.
BoardGameGeek's staff stopped by to talk with Cryptozoic about their latest games as well!
As a surprise, Origins held a special gaming session for some of its volunteers, where they got a chance to play with a major name in the industry. Some of the volunteers got a chance to play The Big Bang Theory Party Game with Wil Wheaton.
Wait, what?! My answer was the best one! C'mon!!!
Alright, fine. You guys won. Fair and square. Here, give me that box for a moment...
There we go! By the way: I'm the rightful winner! Ha!
