Cryptozoic Entertainment Launches Fight! Mortal Kombat 1 Kickstarter Campaign
Based on the iconic video game franchise, the campaign debuts a new take on Cryptozoic’s deck-building engine, alongside a base game, three expansions, and multiple accessories
Laguna Hills, CA — March 3, 2026 — Cryptozoic Entertainment, a leading creator of tabletop games, trading cards, and collectibles, in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, today announced the launch of the Kickstarter campaign for Fight!: Mortal Kombat 1.
Featuring fan-favorite characters and signature moves from the long-running video game franchise, the game debuts the Fight! game engine, an evolution of Cryptozoic’s Cerberus Engine, previously used in the DC Deck-Building Game series and many other titles. The updated mechanics reimagine what fans love about Cerberus through the lens of fast-paced fighting games. The campaign offers a base game with two cover options, three expansions, playmats, acrylic standees, and more, all featuring brand-new original artwork created exclusively for the project. Fans can also unlock stretch goals packed with additional content throughout the campaign.

The game’s Fight! Engine was designed from the ground up to deliver an intense, dynamic two-player experience, then expanded to let more players join the mayhem. Players choose their favorite Kombatant and build strategies around unique Kombo abilities, unleashing overpowered Fatalities—one of the franchise’s signature hallmarks—when they defeat an opponent. Fast-paced and highly replayable, a one-on-one match can be completed in 30 minutes or less.
The Fight! Mortal Kombat 1 base game offered in the campaign is a Kickstarter-exclusive edition, featuring additional cards and upgrades unlocked throughout the campaign. Backers can choose between a Liu Kang cover or an exclusive full-art cover featuring Liu Kang, Scorpion, and Johnny Cage.
